SHORT COURSE
By the end of this course, students will have gained a comprehensive understanding of the transition from 2D fashion illustrations to 3D miniature garments, equipping them with the skills and confidence to continue their exploration in the world of fashion design.
This dynamic short course, “Fashion Illustration to Miniature Creation,” is designed for aspiring fashion designers, artists, and hobbyists interested in the intricate art of translating fashion illustrations into tangible miniature garments. Throughout this hands-on course, participants will journey from the initial stages of conceptualiSing fashion ideas to the delicate process of crafting miniature pieces that reflect their unique styles and creativity.
The course will begin with an introduction to fashion illustration techniques, where students will learn about the fundamental elements of drawing fashion figures and developing a personal illustration style. Emphasis will be placed on understanding FASHION ILLUSTRATIONS AND HOW TO DRAW INSPIRATION to bring designs to life on paper.
As students progress, they will explore the world of miniature fashion design. This section will cover the essential skills required to create scaled-down versions of clothing. Students will engage in hands-on projects, crafting their own miniature garments while experimenting with different materials and textures, allowing them to fully realiSe their illustrated designs in three-dimensional form.
The final project will involve creating a miniature GALA LOOK based on students’ original illustrations.
By the end of this course, students will have gained a comprehensive understanding of the transition from 2D fashion illustrations to 3D miniature garments, equipping them with the skills and confidence to continue their exploration in the world of fashion design.
DURATION: On average students complete this course within 5 weeks.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: MINIATURE FASHION FORM - 1/4, 1/3 and 1/2 size available for purchase. CHOICE OF FABRICS (NEW OR RECYCLED). FASHION ILLUSTRATION KIT OR MAKE YOUR OWN + Computer/Laptop with internet.
Note* You can start the course without the fashion form. You will need the fashion form at Part 2.
